Skylarks tells the story of Aibek, a teenager from a Kyrgyz village near the Tajik border, raised by his grandmother. After his grandmother's death, Aibek sets out to fulfill her last wish—to be buried next to her late husband, but the cemetery now lies on the other side of the new border. Aibek's personal loss intertwines with political division, revealing a coming-of-age shaped by divided land, memory, and the search for one's inner spiritual core. It premiered at Shanghai International Film Festival under Asian New Talent competition. Won the Grand Prix at Amur Autumn (Amurskaya Osen) Film Festival in Russia. It was selected at Sao Paulo International Film Festival (MOSTRA) and will have it Brazilian premiere in October 2026.
