*This Is I (2026)* delivers a heartfelt exploration of identity, courage, and self-acceptance through strong performances, polished visuals, and an emotionally meaningful true story. Although its dual narrative, uneven emotional pacing, and limited character depth occasionally weaken the impact, the film remains compelling with its sincere message and thoughtful portrayal of Ai Haruna's journey. Overall, it is a worthwhile drama for viewers seeking an inspiring story about embracing one's true self. BY ALUNAUWIE

This is a very moving and memorable movie about a trans woman who was born in the wrong body and worked her way toward becoming her true self. While dealing with very sensitive and painful topics, the movie strikes a balance but mostly remaining upbeat and happy and focusses less on the pain that I can only imagine that this journey demands; although that is touched on as well. It is based on a true-life story of both the woman, who went on to win a beauty contest, and the doctor who treated her, going on to perform over 600 operations to help other women become their true selves. Definitely worth watching and very memorable.
